    First edition, octavo. Publisher's green cloth boards with title to spine in gilt. Publisher's fully illustrated dust jacket, design by P. Morgan, unclipped. Rear panel advertises Compulsion by Meyer Levin, "a powerful psychological novel based on the notorious Leopold-Loeb murder case". Minor bumping to spine ends, though corners and edges remain sharp. Dust jacket has suffered some tears with the most notable wear to the spine panel, and a little foxing on the reverse. Internally bright and clean, with a contemporary ownership inscription dated November 18 1938 (taken to mean 1958 with a little wonky handwriting)
